The Global Revenue Technology & Operations team is looking for a Technical Program Manager, Lead, who will lead a team of Technical Program Managers (TPMs) that are responsible for driving multiple complex technology based initiatives and unlocking scalable solutions for our go-to-market infrastructure and operational processes. You will focus on setting and sharing best practices, providing coaching and mentorship, and career development for your direct reports. You will also act as a TPM on initiatives by being a player-coach.
You will:
Manage and grow a team of TPMs as they navigate large and complex programs/projects.
Champion multiple strategic initiatives focused on large technology transformations or highly complex, first-to-market projects.
Attain a deep understanding of revenue technologies, processes, and operations.
Drive programs forward while ensuring accountability and great outcomes; working through the right channels to address project risks.
Create alignment across teams and stakeholders; ensure the right decision makers are engaged and facilitate decision making.
Collaborate with teams across organizational boundaries to influence change and connect the dots between projects, programs, and people.
Critically evaluate information gathered from multiple sources and apply strong problem solving skills to uncover root problems.
Collaborate closely with development and product teams to provide business context and define solutions to problems.
Contribute to establishing and sharing technical program management best practices
Contribute to the development of our team's roadmap by identifying technology and operational gaps and/or problem areas, and proposing opportunities for scale.
Qualifications
You have/are good at:
Team Leadership & Development: 3+ years experience growing and managing teams. You are a people first leader and have a practical understanding of how to mentor/coach others.
Stakeholder Management: You are able to build and nurture high trust relationships with stakeholders.
Program Management: You have a proven track record of program management from ideation to execution. You understand how to shepherd large scale transformation and meet mission objectives.
Communication: You are a clear and effective communicator. You practice transparent, consistent, and open communication. You are able to communicate with a broad range of audiences, ranging from technical to executive.
Cross Functional Alignment: You are able to appreciate the big picture and can navigate multiple competing priorities and programs across many teams to secure resources and align on best actions for Shopify and it's Merchants.
Nice to have:
Degree or Diploma in Engineering, Business, or equivalent experience
PMP, Scrum Master or relevant designations
Experience at a high growth B2B SaaS technology company
Familiarity and/or experience with revenue organizations technology/tools and
