Duties and Responsibilities
- Operate the mobile railcar mover as well as other mobile rail equipment;
- Inspect the train's mechanical condition and detect potential mechanical problems;
- Monitor instrumentation in the mobile railcar mover;
- Be constantly aware of what is going on with the train and how different elements affect its operation (cargo weight, grade, curves, etc.);
- Keep the rail line, frogs and switches clear as required;
- Perform yard maintenance duties;
- Work closely with the Brakeman;
- Carry out instructions regarding specific car movements;
- Prepare and complete reports as required; and
- Be 100% committed to safety.
Qualifications
- Grade 12 diploma or equivalent
- Previous heavy industry experience is an asset
This position currently follows a Monday to Friday schedule working 8 hours per day.
This position is located at the Plant Operation, located approximately 30 km from the city of Estevan. The successful candidate will be responsible for his/her own accommodations and transportation.
